TDHS Conducting 35K SNAP Interviews This Week

As you may know, in recent months, the Tennessee Department of Human Services has been challenged with processing thousands of SNAP applications in a timely manner. This week we’re making a major effort to conduct phone interviews for approximately 35,000 customers with pending applications. Please help us spread the word to ensure customers don’t miss their call. We began a mass mailing of interview notifications last week, however with the unexpected inclement weather, mail may be slow to reach applicants. If applicants have a One DHS Customer Portal account, they can check “My Notices” from the Benefits Dashboard to see their most recent notice, which includes their interview date and time. Customers will also receive a reminder robo call from us the day before their interview. We’ve also worked with cell phone carriers to ensure our phone calls don’t appear as spam. Calls will come from one of 3 phone numbers: 866-311-4287, 615-984-0902, or 615-532-0762. Staff will make at least two attempts to reach the customer for the scheduled interview. Finally, please advise customers that you work with that they can upload needed verification documents easily on the One DHS Customer Portal. The more information they provide up front, the better.
